Erik Forsythe is a professional pickleball player, coach, and General Manager from Long Island, New York, with a career-high DUPR rating of 6.2. He has competed at the highest levels of the sport on the PPA and APP Tours, in Major League Pickleball, and internationally in both India and Australia. Erik currently serves as the General Manager and Coach of the MLP Junior Brooklyn Pickleball Team, where he combines his professional playing experience with his passion for developing the next generation of competitive players. He has competed in more than 100 professional matches and has earned medals at the open/pro level both domestically and internationally. Before pursuing pickleball full-time, Erik spent 13 years working in special education. His background as an educator has become an important part of his coaching philosophy. He understands that every player learns differently and believes great coaching is about meeting players where they are while challenging them to reach their potential. A lifelong athlete, Erik began playing tennis at just four years old and went on to compete collegiately. His tennis background helped build the athleticism, court awareness, competitive mindset, and strategic understanding that have translated into his professional pickleball career. Locally known as the “Jungle Cat” for his lightning-fast reflexes and ability to make seemingly impossible plays, Erik brings energy, competitiveness, and plenty of personality to the court. As a coach, he works with players of all levels, focusing on fundamentals, strategy, positioning, shot selection, and making smarter decisions under pressure. Whether you’re picking up a paddle for the first time or working toward your next competitive level, Erik brings the experience of a professional athlete and the mindset of an educator to every lesson, clinic, and match.
